Course Overview

This advanced certification provides in-depth education on PMU removal using plasma technology and osmosis-based techniques, with a strong emphasis on skin integrity, conservative application, and responsible treatment planning.

Instruction focuses on how plasma energy interacts with the epidermal layers of the skin, how osmosis-based removal supports gradual pigment reduction, and how the body’s natural healing and regeneration processes affect outcomes. Students are trained to understand when each method is appropriate and when it is not.

Because both plasma and osmosis directly influence skin response and healing timelines, this course prioritizes advanced skin anatomy, wound response, risk management, contraindication assessment, and method selection.

Enrollment is intentionally limited to ensure individualized instructor oversight and clinical-level instruction.

Course Structure

The structure is intentionally paced to allow for comprehension, observation, and instructor-guided application.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to explain how plasma energy and osmosis interact with the skin in PMU removal, identify appropriate candidates for plasma versus osmosis-based techniques, understand pigment behavior and limitations across both methods, apply removal techniques using conservative and controlled protocols, recognize risk factors for scarring, hyperpigmentation, and delayed healing, implement proper sanitation and infection control standards, educate clients on realistic outcomes, pre-care, and aftercare, and apply ethical standards and professional judgment in advanced PMU removal cases.

Eligible Participants

This course is intended for PMU artists, microblading artists with corrective experience, licensed estheticians or cosmetologists, and professionals with prior training in PMU or non-laser removal fundamentals. This course is not suitable for beginners or entry-level practitioners.

Practical Training

Students participate in live, instructor-supervised practical training using approved models or practice media in accordance with scope-of-practice and safety considerations. Practical training includes device and material setup, sanitation and safety protocols, controlled application techniques, and real-time instructor feedback and correction.

Supplies

All core instructional supplies are provided for in-class training. Students also receive educational guidance regarding equipment considerations and post-class supply sourcing if they choose to integrate removal services into their practice.

This is a non-laser PMU removal education program utilizing plasma and osmosis-based methods. Completion of this course does not replace state licensing requirements. Scope of practice varies by state and remains the responsibility of the practitioner.

Prerequisite Requirement for Non-Esthetician PMU Artists

Because plasma-based PMU removal directly impacts the skin surface and healing response, this course requires in person training, and is only available in the state of Maryland currently.
